The first level checking of Electronic Voting Machines commenced here under the leadership of District Collector and District Election Officer C. Kathiravan on Tuesday. The first level checking of the EVMs began under an exclusive team consisting of revenue officials and a four-member technical support group from BEL (Bharath Electronics Limited), Bengaluru.

The EVMs that included 2,252 ballot units and 2,500 control units were inspected and tested here. The EVMs for the six Assembly constituencies arrived here from Bihar last week and were kept under tight security at the strong rooms here at the collectorate and the revenue divisional office.
