Farmers’ association appeals for support

March 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - NAGAPATTINAM:

The Coordination Committee of All Farmers’ Association has sought the co-operation of the public, students, and representatives of several political parties for the smooth conduct of dawn-to-dusk bandh, which is to be observed on Saturday in protest against the move to build a dam across the Cauvery at Mekadatu.

Association secretary Ramadoss told presspersons here on Friday that it had been decided to stage rail and road rokos in different parts of the district to mount pressure on the Centre not to allow Karnataka Government to build a dam across the Cauvery at Mekadatu.
