"If we do not betray ourselves but remain united, this force can conquer any force"
Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday told her party members in unmistakable terms that those who had been expelled from the party and caused suspicion, through their actions, to the leadership would never be forgiven.
Also, members of the party who believed words of such persons and acted accordingly would not be forgiven, Ms. Jayalalithaa said, addressing the party general council at a marriage hall in Vanagaram near here.
Though the very severe cyclonic storm ‘Thane' crossed the coast in the early hours of the day, a very large number of party members had turned up. In fact, there were a number of party members who had to remain outside the marriage hall.
Explaining characteristics of different types of politicians on expulsion from their parent party, she said that what one type did was to quit public life after realising their mistakes.
Another group of politicians would join some other party and there was nothing wrong in this. But, there were some persons, even after expulsion for having betrayed their party, who continued to claim that they would go back to the party, would again be influential and would punish those who now antagonised them.
Such persons would never be forgiven. Besides, those who went by their words would also not be forgiven.
“If we do not betray ourselves but remain united, I repeat what I have been saying: this force can conquer any force,” she said.
Urging party members not to be complacent after scoring victories in the elections to the Assembly and local bodies, the AIADMK leader advised them to start their work for the Lok Sabha elections.
The party was going to be in a position to decide who would be the next Prime Minister. In such a situation, the party would be able to defend rights of the State, without jeopardising the integrity of the country.
Thanking her party colleagues for their work in the Assembly elections, she asked them to be friendly with the party workers and accessible to people.

Can we believe that the CM has come to know about the activities of this group only now?
'The party was going to be in a position to decide who would be the next Prime Minister'. oh my God!! please save my country !!! I am not against AIADMK, but against any regional party attaining that status, because that's where the problem lay. I would rather like see any national party forming a Government of its own, without the need for begging any external support, that's the only way we can expect a Government to work for us and the country, otherwise they will be forced to compromise that for their survival.
The AIADMK supreme has been aspiring to become PM or at least wants to "select PM" of her choice from other parties for the last one decade. To fulfill the first wish she needs to get the support from the BJP or from the Congress or support from the third front, including the communists. There is a remote possibility of Mr. Modi supporting her in the event of BJP not calming its stake to rule the Centre. To make her choice as the PM, her party should have a sizable number at her command; let us say a minimum of 30 seats provided there is no national party with 125 seats or more. Now as things stands she / her party may be able to get a maximum of 20 seats provided there is no crisis in the state before the national election. Anyway aiming at the bigger role for her and for her party is nothing wrong. Only the time will answer, as history had already made few sate leaders, like without any mass appeal as the head of the centre.
If Jayalalithaa goes by her commitment of Keeping the Sasikala group from the party and powers to be ,once for all.( forever) This will certainly help her a lot . But if she again patch up like the 1996 , she will loose very badly, and people will loose faith in her. Still people are having doubts , she should not give room for such ...rumors of Patch up.
