Close on the heels of the sharing of question paper over Whatsapp and the arrest of four teachers, a controversy has surfaced over the handling of the Tamil Paper-II question paper of Plus-Two exam at an examination centre here.
Amid allegations that an absentee’s question paper was missing from the sealed envelope and was allegedly used to make a photocopy for marking with answers to help the students, an inquiry has been ordered into the conduct of the supervisor at the centre concerned in Krishnagiri Government Girls Higher Secondary School.
In the Tamil paper II examination held on March 5 here at Krishnagiri Government Girls Higher Secondary School, 23 students were absent. However, the envelope that was to have sealed 23 question booklets of the absentees was found to have had only 22 question papers. Following this, questions were raised against the centre supervisor, Manimekalai, a teacher at Nadupayyur Govenrment Higher Secondary School. According to sources, allegations of the centre supervisor enlisting the help of a PTA clerk to photocopy the question paper to have it distributed to students were made. However, Director of Education, Devarajan said prima facie there was no sign of malpractice, though an inquiry has been ordered into the issue.
