The Election Commission has ordered the transfer of the Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation (TACTV) Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni said on Friday.

The Commission action follows complaints made by several political parties in the State that TACTV was deliberately disturbing the telecast of certain TV channels, especially those run by political parties.

Even during the meeting between the representatives of various political parties and the Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi earlier this month, the issue was flagged by the parties and it was acknowledged by Mr. Zaidi in a press conference.

J. Kumaragurubaran is currently MD in-charge, TACTV.

The announcement of the transfer incidentally came on the first day of filing nominations for the May 16 Assembly polls. The nominations would be received between April 22 and 29.
