The municipality has taken up special measures for checking dengue in the town. After a drive to remove tyres and discarded containers from residential areas and commercial complexes, the municipality has now turned its attention to educational institutions

Sanitary workers launched a special camp at the H.H. The Rajah’s College on Thursday and took up anti-dengue measures, including fogging. The municipality has drafted a special plan to visit various educational institutions in the town, and would implement the anti-dengue measures, municipal sources said. In an official press release issued here, Santhosh Kumar, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, has appealed to the people to extend their cooperation for anti-dengue measures. He has also appealed to them to boil drinking water before consuming. He has also appealed to the people to check stagnation of water in and around residential areas.
