National and international drugs mafia are active in Kerala. The drugs lobby has spreads its roots deep in the State, said Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. On the sidelines of a law reforms meet held in Kochi on Sunday, Mr. Chennithala told reporters that the police would take strict action against those peddling drugs.
Meanwhile, the city police are trying to trace those who regularly organise and attend parties where people use high-end drugs. The police are on the alert after five persons were arrested with 7 gm cocaine in their possession from a high-end apartment complex at Kadavanthra on Saturday.
“We will interrogate the accused. The police are probing the case to find more details about others involved in such parties,” said City Police Commissioner K.G. James.
The police suspect that several luxury apartments in the city are being used to host such parties at regular intervals. The police have started checking the occupancy details of some apartments in the city and are checking their CCTV footage to look out for any suspicious behaviour.
