Driver dies after lorries collide on Chennai-Bengaluru Highway

Traffic was affected on the highway and in Vellore due to the accident.

A container lorry driver died after he drove his vehicle over the median on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway, near Vellore, and collided with a lorry coming in the opposite direction on Wednesday morning.

Traffic was affected on the highway and in Vellore due to the accident.

According to the police, the container lorry was heading towards Chennai when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and drove it over the median. It collided with a coal-laden lorry heading towards Bengaluru.

The container lorry driver died on the spot. The injured driver was sent to a nearby hospital. Passerby informed the police and they rushed to the spot.

A case has been registered and investigation is on. Efforts are on to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway.
