AIADMK candidate E. Madhusudanan, DMK candidate N. Marudu Ganesh and sidelined leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran, who submitted their nomination papers with the Returning Officer of Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar on Friday, stated in their affidavits that their assets were worth ₹1.49 crore, ₹12.57 lakh and ₹74.17 lakh respectively.
Mr. Madhusudanan and Mr. Marudu Ganesh have shown a drop in their assets.
A comparison of the affidavits submitted by the sidelined leader Mr. Dhinakaran before the Returning Officer of Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar in March and again in November shows his movable assets had grown by ₹5.28 lakh and now stood at ₹74.17 lakh. There has been a decrease in the movable assets of Mr. Dhinakaran’ spouse, from ₹7.18 lakh in March to ₹6.87 lakh in November. Though there was no change in her immovable asset which remains at ₹2.40 crore, the movable assets of Mr. Dhinakaran’s dependent grew from ₹49.54 lakh in March to ₹1.17 crore in November.
In his affidavit, Mr. Dhinakaran has mentioned the details of the cases pending against him in various police stations and courts in the country. He has mentioned the pending criminal appeal in the Supreme Court since 2012, the cases pending before Special Judge VII in connection with the anti-corruption case registered in August this year. He has also mentioned the details of the FIRs registered against him in Tiruchi, Annadanapatti in Salem and Kalayarkoil in Sivaganga districts.
A comparison of affidavits submitted by Mr. Madhusudanan shows a decrease in his assets. His movable assets were put at ₹18.89 lakh in March, but fell to ₹12.53 lakh in November. The value of his spouse’s movable assets was put at ₹51.72 lakh in March and it fell to ₹39.21 lakh in November. However, the value of his immovable assets and that of his spouse remains at ₹1.37 crore and ₹3.30 crore respectively.
There is not much of a change in Mr. Marudu Ganesh’s assets. The worth of his movable assets was put at ₹2.79 lakh in March, but it came down to ₹2.57 lakh in November. The value of his spouse’s movable assets remains at ₹7.08 lakh and his immovable assets, at ₹10 lakh.
