T.T.V. Dhinakaran, MLA, on Sunday said that by disclosing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a role in the merger of the two factions of the AIADMK, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam was “only making a confession”. Talking to reporters here, Mr. Dhinakaran said, “He [Mr. Panneerselvam] has given a confession. That is the truth.” He criticised Mr. Panneerselvam for alleging that the family members of his aunt V.K. Sasikala had tortured him , and stating that anyone else in his place would have committed suicide.
“If that is so, how come Chinnamma [Sasikala] made him the Chief Minister soon after Amma ’s [Jayalalithaa’s] death?” Mr. Dhinakaran asked. He alleged that there were attempts by the BJP to turn Mr. Panneerselvam and other Ministers into agents of the BJP.
