Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has filed a defamation case against DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin for allegedly making a derogatory statement about the suspension of DMK MLAs from the Assembly on July 22.
The case has been filed in the principal sessions court by City Public Prosecutor M.L. Jegan. The complaint pertains to Mr. Stalin’s statement to journalists outside the Assembly on July 22 after he and other DMK members were evicted from the House. He had allegedly said the Chief Minister, the Speaker and Ministers were not interested in allowing them to raise or discuss issues.
