Defamation case against Ramadoss

May 14, 2013 05:03 am | Updated November 16, 2021 08:27 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Monday said the state government would file a defamation case against PMK leader S. Ramadoss for his remarks that the State government, police and the Viduthalai Chiruthaikal Katchi (VCK) were responsible for the violence and his party had nothing to do with it. “He seeks to absolve his party of the blame for the violence by shifting the blame on me, my government, police and the VCK. We will take legal action for his remarks,” she said while replying to a special calling attention motion moved by the Opposition in the Assembly.

She dismissed as “useless argument” his claim that the government was soft on the Communists who staged road and rail roko but was arresting only PMK functionaries for staging demonstrations.

“The claim that Communists and the MDMK are gravitating towards the AIADMK and that there is a plan to rope in the VCK is the zenith of absurdity,” she said.
