Teachers suspended

Three persons were suspended for negligence in the incident of wall collapse in a residential school that claimed the life of a five-year-old girl in Denkanikottai recently.

Roja died on the spot when a wall abutting a urinal in the school for dropouts collapsed and fell on her on December 10. She was among three girls who were studying in an NGO-run residential school for dropout children in Pettamugilam village in Denkanikottai.

District Collector T.P. Rajesh placed Sujatha and Nalina, both teachers, and Suresh, an overseer of the residential school, under suspension.
