PMK founder Dr. Ramadoss on Saturday urged the makers of actor Vijay’s Sarkar to remove scenes or posters showing the actor smoking a cigarette. In a statement, Dr. Ramadoss said he was shocked to see the posters of Sarkar , which feature Vijay smoking a cigarette. “There is nothing worse than planting poisonous seeds in the minds of young people. Cinema can be used to create a positive impression amongst the people and negative impression. How is it good to show an actor smoking a cigarette?” he asked.

Quoting Rajinikanth, Dr. Ramadoss said that the actor had accepted his point of view regarding smoking in his films and urged his fans to give up smoking.

“It must be appreciated that actor Vijay met the people of Thoothukudi after the police firing and gave them some funds for their rehabilitation. That’s concern for society. He must immediately remove these scenes from the film if his concerns for the society are true,” he said.
