The Main Falls and the Five Falls in Courtallam have started receiving water, thanks to the continuing drizzle in the Western Ghats since Thursday night.
All waterfalls in Courtallam start receiving water during the southwest monsoon that usually sets over the Western Ghats in the first week of June every year. Since the salubrious climate, coupled with intermittent drizzle that could be enjoyed throughout the season, has resurfaced in Courtallam, full-fledged season is expected to begin in the next few days.
Strengthening this expectation, the drizzle that occurred on the hills ensured significant flow of water in all waterfalls on Thursday night, much to the jubilation of tourists and traders. Though water flow was good in the night, it dwindled on riday morning.
While water was flowing in three branches of the Five Falls on Friday, tourists visiting the Main Falls had to content with a decent flow of water.
“Considering the weather condition prevailing now, we believe that full-fledged season would start within the next three or four days,” said Senthur Pandian, a trader.
