The Special Court, trying the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, on Wednesday rejected the plea of Sasikala Natarajan, a co-accused, for providing her the Tamil translation of questions to be asked by the judge under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. B.M.Mallikarjunaiah, Judge, Special Court and 36th Additional City Civil and Sessions Court, rejected the plea stating that it cannot be accepted.
The court has now fixed December 21 for recording the statement of Sasikala under Section 313 of the Cr.PC as her counsel sought time to challenge today’s order in the High Court. In her application, Sasikala Natarajan has requested the court to provide her the Tamil translation of the questions prepared by the court in English.
