In a shocking incident, a young couple were found dead at their house in Thadikombu near here on Sunday.

Police said Karthik (33), son of David, was married to Meera (27) and the couple had an eight-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy. Karthik was working in the Adi-Dravida Hostel at Viruveedu. David and his wife Dhanapackiam were also living with Karthik’s family in the same house at Amman Nagar in Thadikombu.

After Mr. David and Ms. Dhanapackiam left for the church on Sunday morning, there was a quarrel between Karthik and Meera. It is suspected that Kartik murdered his wife and hanged himself in a fit of rage.

When Mr. David and Ms. Dhanapackiam returned home, they found the door locked from inside. As there was no response to their calls, they broke open the door and found their son and daughter-in-law dead and the grandchildren sleeping.

Thadikombu police sent the bodies to Dindigul Government Hospital for post-mortem. Preliminary inquiries indicated that Karthik and his wife had a wordy altercation over some domestic issues. Further investigation is on.
