Congress to take up power-sharing issue after TN polls

As it formalised the seat-sharing pact with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Congress on Wednesday indicated that the issue of power sharing was open and would be decided after the April 13 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.

“We can talk about the issue only after the election results are out,” party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters at an AICC briefing.

His comments came hours after the DMK chief M. Karunanidhi and TNCC president K.V. Thangkabalu signed the agreement in Chennai, hammered out after hard-bargaining by both sides for about a fortnight.

Under the agreement, Congress will contest 63 seats as part of the DMK-led alliance.
