Captain Vinod Kumar Pisharody will take over as Commanding Officer of Indian Navy Ship (INS) Rajali on January 26.
Commodore Puneet Kumar Bahl will hand over the reins of INS Rajali to Captain Pisharody after commanding it for about three years. During his tenure as commanding officer, the air station was awarded the “Unit Citation” for 2013. He played a vital role in the induction of P8I aircraft. He has been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral and will be moving to New Delhi, according to a press release.
Captain Pisharody had served in the capacity of Captain (Air) at INS Rajali. He will take over as commanding officer at the Naval air station at the change of command ceremony to be held after the 66th Republic Day parade.
He was commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 1989. An experienced MR pilot, he is also a qualified flying instructor. Prior to assuming charge as Captain (Air) INS Rajali, he had been the president, AIRCATS, the release added.
