Combined efforts must for upkeep of hospital premises

Combined efforts of the public, patients, doctors, nurses, staff and other workers will result in keeping the hospital premises clean and prevent outbreak of diseases. This was stressed during the awareness programme held at Government Headquarters Hospital here on Monday.

Aimed at keeping the premises clean, ‘Clean Hospital 2015’ programme is being implemented in the hospital for the past two months.

As part of the programme, each week is attributed for a cause and activities related to it are taken up by all stakeholders.

The hospital has so far observed weeks focusing on sanitation, environment, cleaning toilets, anti-dengue operations, protected drinking water, cleaning rooftops and cleaning drains.

On an average, about 1,000 patients visit the hospital apart from 60 doctors, 36 nurses, 200 workers and 200 nursing college students.

Pamphlets distributed

Chief guests—Namakkal Municipality Commissioner Ashok Kumar and Indian Medical Association, Namakkal Branch president, P. Kannappan, along with Superintendent J. Mohan, resident doctor Rajmohan, P. Ranganathan, Nodal Officer, Sanitation and Security Services and others took pledge and distributed pamphlets to the patients and visitors at the hospital.
