College fest Milan ’17 begins

Milan ’17, the annual national-level cultural and sports fest, where talent from colleges across India converge and compete, has got a bright start with couple of events.

The 10th edition of the event organised by SRM University, Kattankulathur in its campus, was inaugurated by actor Aditya Roy Kapur. The Bollywood actor spent time answering various questions of the students and took time to sign for autographs and selfie sessions.

Director-Student Affairs Col. C.P. Ramchandani said that Milan ’17 will feature talent from across the country as the number of events with large participation vouched for the success of the event.

“The five-day fest is scattered with over 120 competitions for the students to put up their spirited efforts and the prize money to be won is Rs. 20 lakh,” he said.

SRM University vice-chancellor Prabir K Bagchi participated in the inaugural session which was followed by musical with performances from Palak and Palash Muchhal as well as Anushka Manchanda.

The next four days have events such as eco-conquest, aero-championship, music and dance competitions, dramas, and sports events lined up.

Started in year 2008, Milan has graduated to its 10th edition with ebullient, innovative and creative events. The Hindu is the media partner for the event. About 10,000 college students from all over India are expected to turn up for the events in the next four days.
