A class X student of a government high school here committed suicide allegedly because she felt she could not study English well.
Bavani (16), daughter of Kashtavali and Poongodi, both labourers, living in Thavasi Kulam in Keelnathur here was studying in class X in the Municipal High School, Keelnathur.
It was alleged in the complaint given by the family that for a long time she was feeling upset that she could not learn English well.
Doused with kerosene
Last Monday (July 25) when she was about to leave for school in the morning she doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze.
Her family rushed her to the Kilpauk Medical College hospital in Chennai where she died on Tuesday.
