CITU leaders call on Karunanidhi

Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP and Central Committee Member T.K. Rangarajan and Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) State general secretary A. Soundararajan on Wednesday called on the Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi, to press for allowing trade union rights in multi-national companies.

Issue of trade unions

Mr. Rangarajan, who is also the national vice-president of the CITU, told The Hindu that he discussed with the Chief Minister the issue of allowing the formation of trade unions in Hyundai and Foxconn and the need for resolving the Neyveli contract workers' problem. He said it was the right of workers to form unions.
