A day after a couple and their daughter were found brutally murdered near Tirupattur, the police said circumstantial evidence proved that their son, Thamizharasan (25), had committed the murder.
On Monday, Mohan (57), a line inspector of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation, his wife Rajeswari (55) and daughter Suganya (22) were found murdered at their home in Kakankarai near Tirupattur. Their throats were slit, while Suganya’s face was disfigured, apparently after she was attacked with a stone.
Thamizharasan, meanwhile, was admitted to the Government Hospital at Tirupattur with minor injuries to his shoulder and forehead. Police sources said he had confessed to committing the crime.
P. Pakalavan, SP, Vellore, said that circumstantial evidence had confirmed that Thamizharasan murdered his three family members.
“We will have to take him under custody and conduct further investigation to ascertain the reason for the murder. As of now, the motive seems to be that he had taken money from his father and spent it without his approval,” he said.
