Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday announced a solatium of Rs 1 lakh for those who died in the accident at the private power plant in Pudurpandiapuram in Tuticorin district.
In a statement, she expressed her condolences to the bereaved family members.
Five persons injured in the accident were admitted to a hospital.
Those who sustained severe injuries would be given Rs 25,000 each and for those who sustained simple injuries would be paid Rs 10,000.
