Charges are imaginary, says Chief Minister

Siddaramaiah responds to allegations on Arkavathi issue

January 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - MYSURU/BENGALURU:

On the eve of the move by the Bharatiya Janata Party to get a petition filed before Governor Vajubhai R. Vala to seek permission to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over allegations of denotification of large tracts of land acquired for the formation of the Arkavathi Layout, Mr. Siddaramaiah has rebutted the charges, terming them as “imaginary”.

Saying that the denotification of land had taken place in the regimes of Janata Dal (S)-BJP coalition government (led by H.D. Kumraswamy and the BJP government led by B.S. Yeddyurappa) and during the Governor’s Rule in the State, Mr. Siddaramaiah remarked that the true colours of the BJP would soon come to light.

Speaking to presspersons here, Law Minister T.B. Jayachandra alleged that the BJP was trying to mislead people by deciding to approach the Governor, though an exclusive commission had been formed to probe the matter.
