Centre pushing its communal agenda: Akbar

Accuses Modi government of trying to eliminate secularism from the country

March 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:43 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Majlis floor leader in Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, accused the Modi government of trying to eliminate secularism from the country, instead of corruption. During the last nine months, the Government was busy pushing its ‘communal agenda’ of conversions, love jihad, repeal of Article 370 and spewing venom on minorities. “The prosperity of the country lies in strengthening the economy, providing jobs and controlling prices, but not in ghar vapsi,” he remarked. Mr. Owaisi was speaking after hoisting the party flag at Darussalam to mark the 57{+t}{+h}formation day of the Majlis. His elder brother , Asaduddin Owaisi, who is attending Parliament was conspicuous by his absence. Mr. Akbaruddin mounted a scathing attack on the Modi government for rewarding persons subscribing to the RSS ideology .
