Candidates file nomination papers

Fifteen candidates filed their nomination papers in various constituencies in the district on Monday. In Thoothukudi constituency, P. Geetha Jeevan (45), candidate for DMK and sitting MLA, filed her papers before Returning Officer S. Gopala Sundara Raj.

In her affidavit, she declared movable asset worth Rs.4,81,598 and immovable asset value of Rs.1,07,81,000. Besides, in her spouse’s name, the candidate declared movable assets to the value of Rs.26,52,632 and immovable assets of Rs.6,11,98,785. Moreover, she declared assets worth Rs.4.51 lakh in the name of her son.

J. Rajmohan Selvin (49), district youth wing secretary of DMK, filed his nomination as a dummy candidate of DMK.

Shenbagam Vadivoo (44), an independent candidate, filed her nomination from the same constituency.

In Tiruchendur, Anitha R. Radhakrishnan (63) filed his papers before Revenue Divisional Officer Thyagarajan to contest from this constituency. In his affidavit, the candidate declared movable and immovable assets at the value of Rs. 59.08,324 and assets worth Rs. 3,59,68,000 in the name of his spouse.

R. Shanmugananthan (48) of Thandupathu filed papers as a dummy candidate. Besides, independent candidates – J. Kennedy (43) of Meignanapuram, M. Abdul Khanna (34) of Thoothukudi, N. Duraimani (45), Thoothukudi and S. Mohammed Arif (35) of Puraiyur also filed papers.

As for Kovilpatti constituency, M. Baskar (45) of People’s Party of India, a registered party, G. Ramesh (52), district youth wing secretary of MDMK, G. Ramachandran (44) of PMK, his dummy candidate - R. Deepa (39) and K. Muthuraj (42) of Bahujan Samaj Party filed their papers before Returning Officer S. Kannabiran.

In Srivaikuntam constituency, G. Lingaraj (37) of PMK filed his nomination papers.
