Two men, who allegedly blackmailed a 20-year-old woman by threatening to upload her pictures online, were arrested by the Girinagar police on Thursday.

The arrested are Adarsh (23) from Shivamogga and Rishwanth (22) from Mysuru. Both of them are studying pharmacy in Mysuru.

The victim, who was Adarsh’s neighbour in Shivamogga earlier, had shifted to Bengaluru to pursue her studies and was staying in a paying guest accommodation in Girinagar.

Adarsh sent messages to her demanding Rs. 10 lakh failing which he said he would upload hers and her sister’s ‘obscene pictures’ online.

The sisters approached police, who laid a trap by asking the men to collect the money near the Satellite Bus-Stand. The women went with a packet and met the men.

Plainclothes officers, who followed them, nabbed the duo.
