BJP calls for district-wide bandh on Wednesday

September 26, 2016 12:00 am | Updated November 01, 2016 09:04 pm IST - DINDIGUL:

The district unit of BJP and its Parivar organisations would go for a district-wide bandh on September 28 condemning attack on party’s district office and on a car owned by Hindu Munnani functionary, said BJP district president S.K. Palanisamy.

Seventh attack

Talking to presspersons here on Sunday, he said that the attack on leaders and functionaries of Hindu Munnani, BJP and its Parviar oragniations were on the increase in the city. To cap it all, the district party office was attacked and Hindu Munnani State executive committee member B.G. Bose’s car was set on fire. It was the seventh such attack in the district in two-month period. If the police had arrested the accused in the first attack, they would have prevented subsequent incidents. But they did not, he said.

Failure of police

Condemning the inaction of the police and their lethargic attitude, BJP State Executive Committee Member Thirumalai Balaji charged that failure of police led to attack on HM functionary and on party office. The police inaction was highly condemnable, he added.
