A flexboard banner that cropped up in Kancheepuram on Wednesday morning, declaring that the Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary, Jayalalithaa has been absolved by the Special Court at Bangalore, created confusion among the general public as well as the opponents of AIADMK.
The Special Court at Bangalore on Tuesday announced that it would pronounce its verdict on the disproportionate assets case against Ms. Jayalalithaa and others on September 27 after >acceding to her request to shift the venue of the court to a safer place.
The banner was put up by the same AIADMK functionary, K. Parimalam, who had earlier created a pandemonium during the Lok Sabha election period by putting up a banner thanking the Kancheepuram Lok Sabha Constituency voters for electing AIADMK candidate much before the counting of votes was taken up.
This time, he claimed that he had a dream wherein he came to know that the AIADMK supremo was declared guiltless by the Bangalore Special Court judge in his verdict. Further, he predicted a clean sweep of 234 Assembly seats by the party in the 2016 Assembly Elections and also had a dig at the DMK president and as well as the DMDK leader in the banner.
On coming to know about the existence of the banner, local DMK and DMDK party leaders and the general public gathered at the junction of S. N. Odai Street and Jawaharlal Nehru Street, where the banner had been put up. Subsequently, the police removed the banner.
