The Anupparpalayam police arrested Chandran (42), an auto rickshaw driver, on the charge of giving a photocopy of the Rs. 2,000 currency note at a private finance company.

Police sources said the accused made the remittance of a single note on Saturday as the instalment for the chit scheme he joined in the private firm.

Since the employees in the firm found the note to be fake, they informed the police.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that the accused photocopied one note and submitted the same at the finance company.
