Having set out on foot ten days ago to sing the glory of the armed forces and espouse various causes including that of the environment, members of a trekking expedition from the Sindh Brigade, Jamnagar, returned to a warm welcome from soldiers and officers of the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) at Wellington on Thursday.

The members including an officer, two Junior Commissioned Officers, and 15 jawans said while interacting with the host Brigadier S. Suresh Kumar, Commandant of the MRC, that their objectives has been achieved. They had trekked over 279km. through far flung places like Kodanad, Kotagiri, Ajoor, Pykara and Nadugani. They were able to enhance awareness about various aspects of the Indian Army and motivate the youth particularly in the rural areas to become part of it.

They were also able to gain first hand knowledge of the rich flora and fauna of The Nilgiris.
