Applications invited for admission to Children’s Home

Applications are invited from complete orphan, semi orphan (single parent) children, children of life convicts, leprosy patients, mentally retarded, Sri Lankan, destitute women, differently-abled and prisoners for the Children’s Home maintained by the government near Sabari Dam, Parakkinkal, Ozhuginasery in Nagercoil for the year 2016-2017.

The children aged between five and 18 are admitted in the home. They would be given free education, clothes, food, medical and other facilities. The home has vacancy for admission of 100 children.

The guardian and parents with an annual income of below Rs. 24,000 can admit their children at the home. Applications can be had from the Office of the District Social Welfare Officer, Old Taluk Office Road, Kottar, Nagercoil and Government Children’s Home, 6/322/1, near Sabari Dam, Parakkinkal, Ozhuginaseri, Nagercoil, said a release from Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan here on Thursday.

Government orphanages were set up in Cuddalore, Nagapattinam and Kanniyakumari districts to take care of children who found themselves without support immediately after Tsunami struck during December 2004.
