Annual festival of Sufi saint

Special bayan and poor feeding marked the annual festival of Sufi Saint Hazrath Peerane Peer Ghousul Azam Dasthageer, whose tomb is found in Baghdad, in Salem city on Sunday. The Fort Islmia Narpani Manram organised the celebrations. Moulvi M. A. Mohammad Luthfullah Bilali, Professor of Arabic, Chennai, delivered a special bayan at the Ghazzali Chowk, Fort on the topic ‘Life and achievements of the Sage of Baghdad’ on Friday late evening. M. Nasar Khan Amaan Saheb, former Muthavalli, Salem Jamia Mosque, presided over the programme. M. Mohammad Tajudeen, president of the Manram, offered felicitations. Vegetable rice prepared using 1.5 tonne rice and one tonne vegetables were served to poor and also to the inmates of various orphanages in the city on Sunday.
