Alleging foul play in girl’s death, relatives stage protest

Suspecting foul play in the death of 15-year-old girl at the hotel and demanding re-autopsy, parents and relatives of the victim staged a protest outside the Collectorate with their eyes tied with black cloth and begging bowls here on Thursday.

A class IX student from Sankagiri studying in a school in Chinnappampatti was staying in the nearby hostel.

On June 26, she was found hanging in the hostel. Magudanchavadi police registered a case. owever, her mother Uma (40) said that school headmaster and the warden had scolded her the previous day that led to her death.

She added that nail marks were found on her face and body and her complaints to the police and senior officials did not yield any results.

She suspectedfoul play in her daughters death and demanded exhuming the body and conducting re-postmortem by a high level medical team. ‘When we tried to burry the body, the school administration and members of the parent’s teachers association forced us to cremate. We suspect foul play, she added.

She demanded action against the headmaster and the school teacher. She along with her relatives staged protest outside the Collectorate with their eyes covered with black cloth and begging vessels in their hand.

They were removed by the police and taken to the police station.
