A vote for Congress is a vote for stability: G.K. Vasan

March 30, 2014 01:03 am | Updated November 27, 2021 06:55 pm IST - KUMBAKONAM:

A vote for Congress is a vote for stability, sustained growth and communal harmony, said G. K. Vasan, Union Shipping Minister, here on Saturday.

Introducing Congress Lok Sabha poll candidates T. Krishnaswami Vandayar (Thanjavur constituency), Mani Shankar Aiyar (Mayiladuthurai) and Senthil Pandian (Nagapattinam-reserved) at a meeting here, he said Congress alone could ensure stability at the Centre. In this context, he cited the instable governments led by Morarji Desai, Charan Singh, V. P. Singh and A.B. Vajpayee.

The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had earned an irreparable and adverse impression, particularly with respect to ensuring security to Muslims in Gujarat. Further, BJP is locked in confusion over leadership, Vasan said, adding, Modi’s capacity to rule the country and protect its unity was a big question.
