316 recruit warders complete training

A total number of 316 men Recruit Warders of the Prison Department passed out successfully here on Monday upon completion of the basic training.

During the course of their six-month long training at the Warders Training Centre functioning within the Central Prison complex here, the Recruit Warders were imparted training in various subjects including prison rules and regulations, Constitution of India, parade, criminal laws and other laws.

An impressive passing out parade of the Recruit Warders following completion of training was held at the Central Prison parade ground in which the Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons, Chennai J.K. Tripathy took the salute.

Speaking on the occasion, ADGP Tripathy called upon the Recruit Warders to give meaning and put in practice what they had undergone during training in their day-to-day working.

Terming the Recruit Warders as the foundation of the Prison Department, ADGP Tripathy exhorted them to remain physically fit, motivated and determined.

Stating that the government had been providing lot of benefits and facilities to the prison officials, he called upon the Recruit Warders to meet the expectations of the government, public and the country.

Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav called upon the recruit warders to be thorough of prison rules, their duties and responsibilities. Inspector General of Police, Central Zone M. Ramasubramani, DIG, Prisons, Tiruchi Range R. Duraisamy and Principal, Warders Training Centre, Tiruchi A. Kumaresan spoke on the occasion. Medals were distributed to best Recruit Warders on the occasion.
