300 kg of cashew attached for PF remittance dues

March 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - NAGERCOIL:

Regional Provident Commissioner II P. Senthil Kumar ordered attachment of 300 kg of cashew from a cashew processing factory in Malaicode near here on Thursday for default in remittance of Provident Fund amount deducted from employees’ salaries, according to a press release.

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation detected the default in PF contribution remittance during a special drive.

As persistent appeals with the factory management to remit the dues failed, the attachment order was issued. If the company failed to remit the dues within seven days, the attached cashew would be auctioned and the proceeds accounted against the dues, the release noted.

Similarly, steps had been taken to recover PF dues from a private school in Tiruvattar.

Warning

Mr. Senthil Kumar warned the managements and companies to remit the PF dues promptly, failing which legal action would be initiated, the release added.
