As many as 24 students of the Government Higher Secondary School in Karasanur were injured when a swarm of honey bees attacked them during the prayer session on Friday.

The students were rushed to the Vanur Government Hospital.

Sources said the students and teachers were attending the prayer session when a honey comb atop a tree on the premises was apparently disturbed by a stone pelted on it. They attacked the students and teachers who ran into the classrooms.

On information, the panchayat president Gnanasekaran and teachers arranged a vehicle and took the injured students to the Vanur GH.
