18 school vehicles impounded

Eighteen vehicles used to ferry school students were impounded by the Regional Transport Office over the last two days in different parts in Kancheepuram district. The vehicles were seized on charges of operating without validating their fitness certificates (FCs) and overloading.

Eleven vehicles were seized by the motor vehicle inspector’s office, Madurantakam, attached to Chengalpattu RTO, on Monday and Tuesday from in and around Madurantakam and Achirapakkam.

Seven vehicles were seized by the Kancheepuram RTO during surprise checks conducted in and around the town.
