Survey of India has filed a complaint in the Dalanwala police station in Dehradun against technology giant Google for the alleged wrong depiction of India’s map.
An official release from the Survey of India states: “It is observed that M/s Google Map is wrongly depicting external boundaries of India on maps hosted by them on different domains, namely, >http://www.google.cn/maps/@25.7377892,88.726647,4z and >https://www.google.com/maps/@25.1367452,80.1073483,4z , which are not equivalent to Government of India authentication.”

The complaint, which was filed on December 12 (Friday), was based on the directions of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
“The Department of Science and Technology had directed the Survey of India to file a complaint against Google for the alleged wrong depiction of India’s international boundaries,” Station House Officer of the Dalanwala police station Ajay Joshi said.
“The complaint has been referred to the Cyber Cell of the Dehradun police. Further action would be taken after the Cyber Cell’s report on the issue,” Dehradun Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said.
