The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Centre on a public interest writ petition filed by Vineet Narain, journalist, challenging the appointment of Archana Ramasundaram as Additional Director of the CBI.

A Bench of Chief Justice R.M. Lodha and Justices Madan B. Lokur and Kurian Joseph, however, told counsel K.K. Venugopal that it was not inclined to pass an interim order staying her appointment.

Mr. Narain said the Centre had appointed Ms. Ramasundaram, though a committee concerned did not recommend her name.
