A Delhi court on Monday reserved its order on taking cognisance of the chargesheet against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal reserved the order for June 5 after a brief argument by the prosecutor in the case.
The prosecutor argued that there are sufficient material on record to prove the charges of subjecting Pushkar to cruelty and thereby abetting her to commit suicide.
When the court asked the prosecutor what was the cause of death, he said that poisoning and added that it is still under investigation.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy was also present in the court during the proceeding but he did not make any submission in the matter.
The Delhi Police have charged Mr. Tharoor under sections 498A (husband or his relative subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.
Ms. Pushkar was found dead in the suite of a five star hotel in the Capital on January 17, 2014.
The police had lodged an FIR in the matter on January 1, 2015 against unidentified persons under 302 (murder) of IPC.
