Narendra Modi’s wife and mother will also get the Special Protection Group security soon after he takes oath as the Prime Minister on May 26, security officials said.

“His three brothers and two sisters will get Z-category security, provided by the State police,” an official, who did not wish to be named, told IANS.

Mr. Modi’s wife, Jashodaben, and mother Hiraben as well as his brothers and sisters live in Gujarat. Mr. Modi and his wife live separately.

Official sources said the SPG commandos were already sent to Gujarat to assess security requirements for guarding his mother and wife.

The State police were directed to make an assessment and, accordingly, provide security to his brothers and sisters, the officials said.
