South African held with 7 kg of drugs

Blantina Makoti, a South African national, was arrested on Monday at the International Airport here for allegedly carrying and trying to smuggle out seven kilograms of amphetamine drug. The cost of the drug is estimated to be around Rs. 7 crore. Ms. Makoti, a schoolteacher, was scheduled to fly to Mozambique by Ethiopian Airlines on Monday. She was arrested at 3.10 a.m. “The drugs were hidden in 14 school bags which she was carrying with herself on her journey back. Our officers found her behaviour suspicious,” said an official from the Customs Department.
