Seven more Pakistani nationals, claimed to be fishermen, were arrested off the Gujarat coast on Tuesday.

The arrests were made by the Indian Coast Guard off the Okha coast in Jamnagar district in the Saurashtra region. Their boat, Al-Firoze, was also seized.

The sudden spurt in the Pakistani fishermen violating Indian territorial waters has baffled the security agencies. With this, three boats with 18 Pakistani nationals have been arrested by the security agencies for unauthorized entry in the Indian territory. Eleven Pakistanis in two boats were arrested off the Kutch coast in the last three days.

An ISI agent

According to the official sources, one of the alleged “fishermen” arrested on Sunday was found to be an agent of the ISI. Sources said it was the second time that Mohammad Illyus Taimur was picked up by the Indian security agencies and his past records indicate that he was connected with the ISI.
