Reshuffle of officials at Additional Secretary level

Udai Pratap Singh appointed vice-chairman of Delhi Development Authority

Over a dozen officials at the Additional Secretary-level were reshuffled or appointed in various departments and ministries in the Union government with 1984 batch IAS officer Udai Pratap Singh being moved as vice-chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

Two other key appointments were also cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A 1981 Bihar cadre IPS officer A.R.K. Kini has been appointed as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat while S.K. Kohli, Controller-General of Defence Accounts, has been made Secretary, Defence Finance, in the Ministry of Defence in place of Shobhana Joshi, who retired on August 31.

Udai Pratap Singh has been moved from the Tourism Ministry, while incumbent in the DDA Arun Goel of 1985 batch has been posted as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Labour.

Another 1985 batch official and currently in the Cabinet Secretariat, Arun Goyal, has been posted as Additional Secretary in the GST Council, a newly created post.

U.P. Singh of the same batch and belonging to the Odisha cadre has been moved from the Ministry of Water Resources as Additional Secretary to the newly created post of Additional Secretary, River Ganga (Rejuvenation, Protection and Management) Authority.

Sumanta Chaudhary from West Bengal has been posted as Managing Director of the Small Farmers Agri Business Consortium in the Ministry of Agriculture, while S.N. Sahai of the 1986 IAS batch has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

Suresh Kumar of the 1986 IAS batch has been shifted from the Defence Ministry to the Ministry of Coal as Additional Secretary.

Joint Secretary in the Defence Ministry Rabindra Panwar, a 1985 batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the same post by upgrading the post, while Meenakshi Gupta of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service has been transferred from the Ministry of Labour and Employment to the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers as Additional Secretary.

A forest service official of Uttarakhand cadre Ashok Pai has been appointed as CEO of the National Waqf Development Corporation Limited.
