‘Thousands of young Muslim men languish in incarceration without charge sheets to their name’
Seeking action on the prolonged incarceration of Muslim youth over unsubstantiated terror charges, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has demanded that those against whom no charge sheet had been filed even after several years of imprisonment be discharged and compensation given to those who have been acquitted.
The Board also sought action against the police officers who “falsely implicated these youths.” Claiming that a sense of insecurity had crept in among Muslims, the Board decided, during a working committee meeting on Sunday, to submit a resolution to the Central and State governments.
The meeting was presided over by Board president Maulana Rabey Hasni Nadwi.

@Martin
What a stupid comment you have just made...
1) Do you think Muslims don't feel insecure because of terrorism? They
definitely do... just have a look at the list of persons killed in
26/11 attack, you will find many Muslims there. Every Indian suffers
because of terrorism.
2) "Will that particular community compensate all the ills it has
caused to the society and its citizens?" Wow... what type of justice
are you talking about? How is an 'individual' responsible for the deeds
of some people belonging to his community? What is community any way?
Why should someone be associated with one group for life because of
chance event of his birth? You may not realize it but you have made a
statement close to calling for punishment of son for the crime
committed by father.
@Martin Kurien. It would be more better, if you maintain respect on other communities. Terrorism has been associated with catholics in Northern Ireland for many decades and the thaw in relations between protestants sect came only a few years ago. Shall we name catholics are terrorists as a whole? Same is applicable to Basque region in Spain, where the separatists are fighting with the government for a separate country for many decades now.
You have no idea about thousands of Muslims incarcerated in jails across India without even charge sheet on them. What could be more agony and injustice to these people. Forget about the religion here. Those youth who are languishing inside the jails without any charges are denied of their future and face an uncertainty forever. Stop commenting and ranting on other religions.
I wouldn't be commenting at all, if the same has been with the christians. Learn to respect other religions.
I dont understand how by punishing the innocent people you can create a safe society. People argue about the effects of Terrorist activities on society. But why dont we look at the causes which leads to terrorism? By punishing the youths who are in no way associated with any crime, we are just laying the seeds of hatred, which might culminate in a tree which will produce fruits of terrorism. Stop labelling MUSLIMs as terrorist when we have so many other examples of violence caused by other community. I am not defending the terrorists who are Muslim. But if you arrest innocent Muslims and punish them, you cannot expect them not to commit the crimes for which they are already punished, when they are freed!!
Treat all acts of Terrorism equally.. and punish them equally brutally.!!
thousands of innocent indian youth are sitting in jails in middleeast, indian and
african jails, let our government appoint a strong legal councel, have effective
ambassadors abroad.
What about the insecurity that has crept into the indian society due to terrorists, of particular kind. Will that particular community compensate all the ills it has caused to the society and its citizens? It takes more than courage to say the truth even for a hallowed organization or for that an individual or even publish the truth, or we can be happy in the thought that we are saying something like the truth but its not the figment of imagination of truth!
