The BJP on Tuesday announced Ranjanben Bhatt as its candidate for the by-election to the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Having won from both, Vadodara and Varanasi, Mr. Modi had decided to retain the Varanasi seat in Uttar Pradesh.
Four-time corporator, Ms. Bhatt was elected the Deputy Mayor of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation in June this year.
Narendra Rawat will be the Congress candidate for the by-election to the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat.Mr. Rawat said he would put up a tough fight against Ms. Bhatt.
